TIROEN IRISH SETTERS

HISTORY

*********************

The affix TIROEN, comes from an old Gaelic spelling of County Tyrone in Northern Ireland
where Ro's Parents come from. Their house has always been called Tir-Oen.

So it was special as well as being a bit of the Irish.

Tiroen Irish Setters began with a love of the breed and the desire for a dog.
An advert in a local paper to Ro's parents resulted in a visit to the breeder and
Beth

(Keyscourt Taras Moonchild at Tiroen) went to sleep on her lap and that was that.

Ro then moved to Jersey to take up a teaching post there and puppy went too.

As time went on, Beth was taken to Obedience Class and the fateful words were said

"that is a nice bitch, why don't you show her".

Her debut was at a Jersey Members Show where

she was Best Sporting Novice and the seed was sown.

As time went on Ro decided that she would like another dog for company and to show

- having been to a few Championship Shows and through friends she had made,

Oscar (Nelmside Navajo Warrior at Tiroen) came to stay.

It wasn't just in the show ring that they had fun, the dogs also competed in the UK at Agility

giving the collies a run for their money on many an occasion!

On meeting Nigel who thankfully was dog orientated too, we decided that a brood bitch was the next step - unfortunately Beth had had to be spayed due to mammary tumors.

Again, through contacts we were put in touch with Magi Henderson

and Breagha (Sametsuz Mak'n Waves at Tiroen) came to join us just in time to be at our wedding.

The years passed with many successes in the ring and a suitable 'husband' was found

in the shape of James (Sh Ch Danaway Fortune Teller)

Nine puppies later, we kept Keeva ( Tiroen Tourbillon).

Keeva unfortunately had a bad fright in the ring and has never really got over it.

However, as a Veteran. she made it back in the ring and did us proud!

She did give us a lovely litter by Connor (Sh Ch Orstone Interceptor)

and from that litter we kept two;

TJ (JSY CH Tiroen Taylormade PDH SH CM) and Jules (Tiroen Tickled Pink)

have been fantastic ambassadors for the breed

and have delighted us by being fabulous souls to live with.

Jules had a wonderful litter by Miller (Clachnahar Ami Pierrot JW) and again we kept two

Snupps (Tiroen True Blue JW) and Freya (Tiroen Take My Breath Away JW).

We mated Freya (Tiroen Take My Breath Away JW) to Dooley, (Sh Ch Jonola Dr Doolittle)

and nine beautiful puppies was the result. We decided to add two to the extended family,

Yoshi (Tiroen Time Lord) and Phoebe (Tiroen Timeless Classic).

Their sister, Ayres, (Dt. Jug. Ch. (VDH), Dt. Ch. (VDH), Lux. Ch., Pol. Ch. Tiroen Top Marks)

came back to us to have a litter to help out her owners. Her suitor was Jenson, (Riverbrue Zeus JW) and the happy result was 9 puppies 2 girls and 7 boys.

We are holding on to two of them, Madison (Tiroen Too The Manor Born) and Tiroen Too Hot To Handle.

Dogs are available for stud to approved bitches

don’t be put off by us being in Jersey

we do spend time and have good contacts in the UK.
